Aaron Accurso is the better choice for Gilbert Town Council

Valley Telegraph

Accurso is the more convincing small and limited government advocate than his opponent Kenny Buckland.

Aaron Accurso isn't a businessman or government official but a working man, specifically a construction manager. Regarding high density housing Accurso said:

I do not believe that it is the government’s responsibility to provide affordable housing.  The market will adjust in time to the demands within it.

Regarding taxation Accurso states:

We should provide for the public needs with the funds available through existing taxes.

If something becomes untenable, it is the responsibility of the governing body to reassess its priorities and make do with what the public has given them in their taxes.

On the housing subject his opponent Kenny Buckland, who is a sales manager in a second chance company, said:

None of us wants to see too many apartments forever change the character of our community. At the same time, I would like my adult children to be able to afford a home in Gilbert; that is not an option right now. We need to be thoughtful about providing intermediate housing options, considering all options and the communities’ desires, as well as strong consideration for the landowners’ rights.

Regarding tax hikes:

I am currently evaluating this in detail myself, as this is not a simple yes or no question.

Aaron Accurso is the better choice

High density housing and tax hikes should be easy rejects. Accurso is clear, Buckland seems wavering. While both men seem decent and acceptable for Town Council, from the statements available, Aaron Accurso is the better choice.
