Are Chandler's dominant local media leftist?

The articles in the supposed non-partisan Chandler Arizonan often seem to have a severe left or even far left bias.

The Chandler Arizonan is a free newspaper that is being delivered to Chandler residents on their driveways and sometimes in their mailboxes. The publication is owned by the Times Media Group. The managing editor Ken Sain writes most of the articles in the paper as well as sister publications such as the San Tan Sun.

Sain appears to be on the left or far left of the political spectrum, as the below images taken from social media show. He appears anti-Trump, and bemoans alleged white supremacy.

Above: Chandler Arizonan Managing Editor and writer Ken Sain's social media indicate left or far left political leanings.

There is evidence that Sain may allow his political leanings to influence his reporting. We do this at this newspaper as well, but, unlike the Chandler Arizonan, the Valley Telegraph isn't pretending to be a non-partisan publication.

Exhibit 1 of this evidence is their reporting, or lack thereof, of the scandal surrounding OD Harris' - the Chandler City Council Member - misrepresentation of his military record. The Arizona Republic and this newspaper have shown the discharge papers of Harris in published articles. These discharge papers clearly show that Harris was discharged early, was discharged without an honorable discharge, was restricted from re-enlisting, and appears to be ineligible for at least some of the benefits real veterans usually enjoy. The articles also show that Harris misrepresented his record with regard to specialization and length of service.

Instead of honestly reporting about the issue with Harris' apparent misrepresentations, the Chandler Arizonan instead chose to simply write that: This newspaper has so far not been able to independently confirm that report. This despite the discharge record being available and literally showing the early discharge. It is hence not too far fetched to suppose that the Chandler Arizonan may not have wanted to independently confirm the allegations because of the damage this would have done to Harris, a fellow leftist.

Exhibit 2 is the Chandler Arizonan parroting OD Harris claiming that a campaign opposing his re-election, the no-od.com campaign, photoshoped his face to make it appear darker and more menacing. The No-OD campaign told us that Chandler Arizonan did not contact them to comment on the allegations. Below you can see the original image displayed on a page of the City of Chandler website as well the No-OD campaign sign. Note that Harris wears a black face mask, meaning not much of his face is even showing. No face darkening appears to have taken place. The original image shows Harris standing in front of a mural celebrating Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Anti-Racism and other racist concepts.

The above digital image is displayed on a City of Chandler web page. Archived link.

Harris was not re-elected to the City Council because Chandler voters like him. He was elected because Chandler voters were fooled and deprived of accurate information by a) people who took the anti-OD signs off the streets b) the Chandler Arizonan which did not accurately report and c) an unusually stupid local Republican Party that saw mayor Hartke, a Republican, endorse OD Harris, a far left BLM sympathizer, over Republican City Council candidates like Michael Simon. Harris hence got most if not all of the Democrat votes, plus a small proportion of Republican voters who had not heard of Harris various scandals and his actual political leanings and ideology.
