Council Member Christine Ellis is damaging Chandler

The Council Woman, who is originally from Haiti, recently posted on social media glorifying Haitian immigrants. She once got bailed out by the City of Chandler. On the Council she is a spend-thrift, diversity pushing leftist, with a smile.

Answering credible reports, including by Ohio Senator JD Vance, that a number of Haitian immigrants in Ohio may have taken, killed and eaten pets, Chandler Council member Christine Ellis took to Facebook to glorify Haitian immigrants in the US. The post also calls on Vice Presidential Candidate, who is from Ohio, to recant his "xenophobic and inflammatory" statements.

Here is a list of things the council woman has not commented on:

Is she Democrat or Republican?

Like her colleague OD Harris, Ellis is a leftist. However, she seems to occasionally turn up to Republican precinct meetings. She is reported to having been seen at Democratic precinct meetings too. She has been endorsed for City Council by Congressman Greg Stanton, a staunch Biden-Harris ally in Washington DC. BLM adjacent leftist council member OD Harris is also an ally of Ellis. Ellis had voted for OD Harris to become Vice Mayor.

During the 2020 primary debate hosted by former mayor Jay Tibshraeny, Ellis thanked the former mayor (then a judge) for using City resources to bail her out in 2009 after "she had lost $5 Million in the market crash". Isn't it great that tax payer money is used selectively to help out some people who made bad investments, but not others. See video below:

On the City Council Ellis has been mostly a leftist, pushing for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs and massive spending increases. In a bizarre rant, she recently asked patrons in a bar/restaurant to clap their hands for Chandler's new $1.6 Billion budget, 80% higher than just 4 years ago. She is currently pushing for a new bond which voters can approve or disapprove in the Nov 5 election. Each Council member receives a budget they can spend on as they wish, it seems Ellis sent some of that money to Haiti.

Ellis is currently in a runoff with Joseph Yang for the last remaining slot on the council. The other 2 available slot were decided in the July 30 primary.

Readers should understand that not all business people are small government libertarians. Quite the opposite, many business people like Ellis are all the rage about free markets and competition - for others - while demanding special government favors for their own businesses, e.g. protection from competition via a license, cheap labor via open borders, more customers via high density housing, or, direct payments from the government, as Ellis seems to have received.
