In a recent crime spree suspects had stolen a truck and then used the truck driving in neighborhoods to steal things out of people's cars.
Apparently the white pick up truck in the video was stolen at night on Oct 28 from a property in the Islands, in Gilbert, near the border with Chandler. The truck was subsequently used in a number of other thefts, transporting suspects to people's driveways were they would take items out of pick up truck beds and tested if cars are left open or locked.
The owner had to go to the police station to report the theft. Apparently the police were short handed to come out to the scene and take a report.
The truck was later found by the owner via GPS tracking in a Chandler apartment complex on McQueen Road between Highland and Ray. Police were called, the truck was fingerprinted and was returned to the rightful owner.
For those whose first instinct is to call for more cops: How about instructing your politicians to stop all apartment building, especially section 8, so that crime doesn't come to your city in the first place, so there won't be a need for more police, your children can safely walk alone to school, and a house left open just won't be burgled? America used to be like that, mostly very safe was the norm without the need for giant police forces because single motherhood wasn't celebrated as stunning and brave and crime wasn't advocated as a glorious way of life.
