Our lives and liberties depend on preventing today's Democrats from holding onto power. The contrast between D and R has never been starker.
Here are 10 reasons to emphatically vote for Donald Trump:
Fighter against domestic communists: There were two serious and politically motivated attempts on Trump's life during this current campaign season. In one, Trump was shot in the face, but survived. Without having won a single primary vote in either 2020 or 2024, his opponent Kamala Harris on the other hand was installed in a coup, pushing aside the sitting and elected President Joe Biden. Harris (and Biden) are constantly calling Trump a Nazi, fascist, racist, danger to democracy, someone to be targeted. They have expanded this rhetoric to include his supporters and voters as well. Do you think they will want to leave it at rhetoric, or do they have camps with special death chambers in mind? Vote like your and your kids' lives depends on it, because it does.
Target of lawfare: The Biden and Harris administration has been working with or encouraging friendly prosecutors to wage lawfare on Donald Trump, their political opponent, for the last 4 years, dragging him from indictment to indictment, usually in frivolous cases and with partisan judges presiding. They have imprisoned Trump allies like Steven Bannon and Peter Navarro, as well as thousands of people who participated in the Jan 6 rally in Washington DC that went out of hand when Capital Police opened the doors to the Capitol, ending in one of the attendees, Ashley Babbit, getting shot to death by a capitol police officer who was subsequently hailed as a hero by the powers that be.
Champion of free speech and civil rights: Intelligence officials, journalists and politicians loyal to the status quo pushed censorship, e.g. about the genuine Hunter Biden laptop story, on social media companies like Twitter and Facebook. Internet companies had been similarly pressured by the administratitve state to censor opposition to Covid lockdown, mask and vaccine mandates and school closures. Parents were targeted by teachers union allied Democrats in the federal government. Even the FBIgot involved in surveilling parent groups. Trump on the other hand has made internet freedom and freedom of speech a centerpiece of his platform. Trump is also supportive of the second amendment and other civil rights protecting the individual from the state.
A good economy due to lower taxes and regulations: Donald Trump has a track record of relative global peace, a growing and low inflation economy, reduced taxes and a reduction of the administrative/regulatory state. The economic turmoil at the end of his term was caused by the China-originated Covid 19 pandemic and by the over-reaction of mostly Democratic governors who shut down their states. We want to emphasize for the record that Trump also made mistakes, e.g. putting Fauci in charge, panicking (for a while) the population during daily press conferences, and pushing for 15 days to slow the spread, then 30. He had backed off from these measures relatively quickly, but it was a mistake to institute them in the first place and many people at the time had said so. A truly free and enlightened society does not suspend civil rights and economic activity for anything. However it was zealous lockdowners mostly in blue states that did most of the damage. Public schools in a number of blue state were still closed 2 years after the outbreak of Covid, when many red states had largely returned to normal.
Reasonable position on abortion: This newspaper is strongly opposed to moral panics. Moral panics are effeminate policies that try to restrict the activity of other people without tangible benefit to oneself. The drug war is a classic example. Why would you spend your own taxpayer money to prevent your neighbor from snorting cocaine in their home, make criminals out of them, and enable the rise of massive criminal organizations (cartels) that supply the demand via a vast black market? The FBI and the institution of the federal income tax are (rightly) a thorn in the eye of many. Yet, the link to moral panic policies decades ago is sometimes missing in their minds. The FBI and the federal income tax were instituted in unison with the prohibition. Why was it necessary to kill Roe v Wade? Of what consequence is it to person A, if person B decides to get an abortion? Are you serious about building a pregnancy police and throwing doctors in jail who help a woman who had been raped to get rid of the product in week 10? Why? How does this benefit you? Trump owns the repeal of Roe v Wade on the federal level. However, Trump is also pro-choice within reason, like most Americans. He would not sign a nationwide abortion ban, he seems to be in the sweet spot of legal till week 15 with exceptions thereafter, but leaving it to the states to sort out how they want to handle abortion. Most states, even deep red ones, have refused to place strict limits on abortion. Pro-life absolutists, including here in Arizona, who "succeeded" in getting a pro-abortion measure (139) onto the ballot after allowing a century old total abortion ban to come back on the books, have risked handing the state to Kamala Harris, possibly preventing their champion Trump from winning the Presidency.
Anti-DEI: Trump has opposed and is opposing, largely, racial politics that seeks to disadvantage whites and Asians, particularly for the benefit of black Americans. These policies are usually called Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, DEI. In truth they are just state sponsored racism, mostly against white and Asian people. Harris would supercharge these policies championed by her boss Joe Biden, and friend Barack Obama. Joe Biden promised to select nominees for political office based on race and gender, in particular black females. And he has fulfilled that promise, e.g. his Vice President Kamala Harris, and SCOTUS Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, among many others. In fact 1/3 of Justices appointed by Biden are black, 1/6 Hispanic, 1/6 from other races and only 1/3 are white in a country that is still nearly 2/3 white. Kamala Harris would make things even more unfair, leading to an ever more incompetent federal government and military.
World peace: Donald Trump presided over a relatively peaceful world. Putin's Russia behaved, had not invaded Ukraine. Putin's armies invaded Ukraine under Biden-Harris, only days after Harris had been sent to Europe as a peace envoy. During Trump's 2016 to 2020 tenure, North Korea was scaling back nuclear testing, today it's increasing tests and has troops in Ukraine, helping Russia. China was in a somewhat cooperative mood, today it is threatening to attack Taiwan. The Middle East had seen the conclusion of the Abraham peace accords between Israel on the one side, and Bahrain, the UAE, Sudan and Morocco on the other. Today, under Biden-Harris, the Middle East is in a fairly large regional war in which Israel is combating Palestinian and Iranian backed islamists which have attacked it and its people. Gone are the days when Democrats eschewed foreign interventionism for fun. Now the neocons, e.g. Liz Cheney, rightly shunned by most Republicans, try to put their mark on Democrats and the Democrats have become the party of pointless wars and entanglements via eschewing "peace through strength" and embracing "war through weakness" politics.
Border security: Donald Trump, despite a hostile Congress - including many Republicans, managed to make the US border more secure and slow down the flow of illegal aliens entering the country. This was accomplished by a combination of physical barriers and policies such as Remain in Mexico. The Biden-Harris administration has thrown the borders open and has essentially suspended any enforcement of laws protecting the Southern Border. The resulting ~10 Million illegals that have entered since then have led to less affordable housing, overstretched educational and healthcare systems, rising crime and overtaxed budgets for welfare. In some places migrants are housed in hotels, in others cities rent private residences to house migrants, making it harder for local families to find a place to stay.
School choice and educational excellence via merit: On education Trump stands for school choice, fairness, merit, excellence, while Harris stands for teachers union corruption, forced masking, forced vaccinations. She would go after private and charter schools, would probably go after home schooling as well, and would use the public education sector to further indoctrinate children in woke evil, from racialism to transgender insanity that often recommends that children with mild and temporary mental issues get sex change hormones and surgery.
He's up for the job, because he had the job and did it well: Donald Trump is an intelligent and generally thoughtful person. As the Joe Rogan interview shows, when you talk to the man normally, without accusing him of being a racist Nazi every 2 seconds, he sounds normal. Better public speakers, like his VP Candidate JD Vance, are less prone to taking bait from hostile interviewers, however Trump is still an effective communicator even under hostile pressure. He's presidential. He has done the job before, and he generally did it well. Kamala Harris on the other hand is genuinely low IQ. She has been handed every government job she's ever gotten - she has always worked for the government, never in the private sector - due to her race and gender, or by striking up affairs with powerful men, e.g. Willie Brown. Her record is one of failing up. Even in friendly interviews she produces word salads. In the only interview in which she was seriously challenged and asked for actual answers - the Bret Baier interview on Fox News - Harris fell apart. The insidiousness of DEI/affirmative action in US culture came to light when even far right commentators said things like: all she had to do was to stand up and not fall asleep, showing how low the bar is set in the US for people of certain racial and gender characteristics. Trump's VP candidate JD Vance is an intelligent person with mostly reasonably views. He easily bested low IQ chuckle-head communist Tim Walz, Harris' VP candidate, in their one and only debate. Walz is the governor of Minnesota and cheered as BLM rioters destroyed part of his state. Harris cheered as well, even raising money to bailout rioters.
There has rarely been a clearer choice between the candidates. This isn't Obama-McCain or Obama-Romney. This isn't Bush-Kelly or Bush-Gore. This isn't a neoliberal vs a neo-concervative. This is a Communist (Harris) vs a Democratic Republican (Trump). Anyone with a sense of self-preservation and love for their children, born or not yet born, will crawl over broken glass if needed to cast their vote for Trump. Please do it, and please reach out to reluctant friends to do the same. This is a do or die moment. Communism is an inherently evil and violent ideology. Both Harris and Walz are communists. Don't let them rule over you.
Kari Lake (R) vs Ruben Gallego (D)
This newspaper is less bullish about Kari Lake. She's untested as a politician in office, but she has a negative track record on winning election as she lost a very winnable election for Arizona governor against the abominable Katie Hobbs in 2022. This isn't entirely her fault as the Arizona Republican Party is more fractured than other state parties between neo-cons and populists while the Arizona Democratic Party is fairly unified and well organized.
Lake's opponent, Ruben Gallego however is a known quantity. He is one of the most far left members of the House of Representatives in Congress. Although he is trying to dress up as a moderate to some audiences (like Kamala Harris), to other audiences he presents as himself, a communist (like Kamala Harris). Lake would likely be a close ally of the Trump administration in the US Senate and serve the interest of Arizonans in Washington DC far more effectively.
